First week at the MTC was yosh! My district has been awesome and I've been able to get close with a lot of them. Its been super busy but also been more and more fun each day because we have less basic training. I'm eating a lot, and the food is not too bad yet haha. Also its pretty dope i live 4 rooms down from Lincoln. And I've gotten to see Tate at some meals too. It's really cool being with a bunch of people around your age that all just want to have fun and learn about the Gospel. One of my favorite Elders so far is Elder Yamanoi! Yamanoi is from Japan and is serving in Provo! He just got here 4 days ago like me and he already has some insane English! I don't know how he already knows so much. But its been really fun getting to talk to him in English and a bit in Japanese. Also, fun fact, he is a sumo wrestler in Japan and was ranked 5th in all of Japan. He is YOKED. And he still is the kindest guy and really liked the gummy worms we gave him from our potluck we had. I got a little notebook the first day and I wrote down all the new words I hear. And so all day every day me and one of my comps Elder Stanley just walk around saying random words. Which sadly half of them are not useful at all. But it has helped!!
Scripture!
While waiting in the Temple I was able to read the Book of Mormon for a bit, and found a scripture that I really liked. The MTC can be hard at times but and can make me want to just be alone and take a break. But I am trying my best in those times to just have faith in Christ, that everything will be okay.
Moroni 7:37 Behold I say unto you, Nay; for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men; wherefore, if these things have ceased wo be unto the children of men, for it is because of unbelief, and all is vain.
Temple!
We got to go to the temple on the first Pday and do baptisms and initiatories. It was really cool getting to be with my comps and baptize each other. I love getting to go through different Temples and see the differences of each one, but I always have the same good feeling when I'm inside the Temple. So I can't wait to get to go again.
I'm having lots of fun, and learning so much everyday. Starting to feel a little less like the freshman on campus haha.
