こんにちわみなさん

Elder Birchall!

This week was great like always!! One of my companions had played the piano while his friend sang for the departing missionaries on Sunday, and it was really really good. It's fun we get to study while they practice, and I'm guessing their will be a lot more coming which is fun! On Monday one of my companions had gotten a stomach bug or something, he was really in pain for a bit, so we missed class but got to use that time to do 3 hours of Language and personal study. Which was exactly what I needed! And luckily after his nap he felt good again! So that was really a blessing that it stopped bothering him. We have played a lot of Hacky Sack lately and we are all getting pretty good haha. Some mornings we just go to the field and play for an hour, and you could say it gets pretty intense haha. We played some Blitz Ball which is like wiffel ball, and we beat a random Korean District, they were pretty salty. I got to play basketball this week with Ethan Birchall which was dope because we haven't gotten to play together for a couple years now. But we both still play about the exact same as we did before. I also got to see Dane Lawler this week! That was super dope to see him get here. But its sad that both of them are gonna leave me soon for Colorado. But I'm excited to hear how it is in the field because they're  gonna do awesome.

Language:
Classes have been pretty awesome. I'm pretty sad tho that we are losing both of our teachers because of BYU fall semester. And we have gotten really close with them. But the new teachers seem like they will be really chill and good! We met one of them a few times, Brother Shah. He is really cool so I'm excited to see how class goes. But about language, we have been speaking a lot of Japanese and are gonna start only Japanese on Monday, just to try to get a headstart on when we do it in a few weeks.

At the Tuesday night General Authority Devotional we got to hear from Brother and Sister Wright, Sister Wright is the first counselor over the primary presidency and she talked about steps to being a successful missionary, and also loving everyone around you. It was a really amazing talk. At the end we sang Hark, All Ye Nations, and the last line said "We are chosen by God to serve him below. To every land and people we'll go." And I got the chills when that line hit, because there were literally like 2,000 of us singing that song and going to places all over the world, and we get to share the love of God everybody who seeks it.

Scripture:
Today we had a substitute for class and he was a pretty straight forward guy. But he shared a really cool scripture and said that we aren't that strong by ourselves. Our biggest strength is Christ. And we won't be ready for our missions if we don't include him in our lives.

Helaman 4:13
13 And because of this their great wickedness, and their boastings in their own strength, they were left in their own strength; therefore they did not prosper, but were afflicted and smitten, and driven before the Lamanites, until they had lost possession of almost all their lands.
