We also started the speak your language challenge early as a district. And so we try to speak only in Japanese. And I've really noticed that things are starting to become easier to remember and say while doing that. But it is slow and annoying sometimes when you have to look up a word to say the simplest things. But its going good!
Me and my companions had our first fake lesson thingy in Japanese! And that honestly went pretty well! It's kinda cool I can like kind of see what it's really gonna be like. And luckily in these they say really basic stuff so I can understand it all. But I know I will definitely be totally lost when it's the real thing. But over time it will come!
There are some days that I feel really good about the language, and them some where I feel like it's never gonna get there. But I've spent a lot of time studying and just having faith that it will come. The biggest difference I've noticed so far, is that the days that I get a really good personal study and take time to learn about Christ, those are the days where things feel simpler and I feel like I am really getting a bit better.
I keep asking my teachers about different slang we can say in Japan just because that's a lot of what I use at home. And he just tells us every time that they really don't use it, or that if I tried to use some of their words like I use English then they would probably just think I'm some really dumb American.
Devotional:
This week Elder Gong came for the Tuesday night Devotional! It was so awesome to get to hear from another Apostle. And he spoke about some amazing things that had to do with the first vision. But what stuck out to me the most was his kindness and humbleness. He walked around for a couple minutes before and after the meeting to say hi to the random missionaries, and had quick genuine conversations with each of them. He also had some very funny dad jokes throughout his talk which also just made me like him even more.
Scripture:
Alma 31:38
"38 And the Lord provided for them that they should hunger not, neither should they thirst; yea, and he also gave them strength, that they should suffer no manner of afflictions, save it were swallowed up in the joy of Christ. Now this was according to the prayer of Alma; and this because he prayed in faith."
If we pray to him with intent we can receive so many blessings.
みなさん を あいしてます!
Hope you have a great week!
